Cesar V. Treviño, 86, our beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather entered into the glory of his eternal life on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas.

A native of China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Treviño had been a resident of Brownsville for a number of years. He owned and operated Alicia’s Flowers and Novelties. A member of the Pentecostal church, he was a man of deep faith and devotion to his Lord and Savior. He alongside his wife were instrumental in the founding of several Pentecostal churches in Brownsville and the surrounding area.

He was devoted to his family and was the anchor that bound the family together. A tenor, he loved to sing, and at one time sang professionally.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alicia Mendoza de Treviño; his parents; Julio and Librada Treviño; a sister, Elvira Treviño Gutierrez; and two brothers: Joel and Felipe Treviño.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his four sons: Julio Cesar and his wife Claudia, Oscar Alonso and his wife Ernestina, Jorge Luis and his wife Patricia, and Jesus Enrique and his wife Laura Treviño; his grandchildren: Leonardo, Clara, Bruno, Izar, Ezti, Ernestina, Oscar, Patricia, George, Laura, Jesus (Mildred) Cesar, and Carlos Treviño; as great-granddaughter, Luna Treviño; a sister-in-law, Elvia (Roque) Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today, Sunday, February 14, 2010 and continue through 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Darling-Mouser. Interment will follow at Buena Vista
