Alberto “Beto” Aguilar, 75, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle entered into the glory of his eternal life on Monday, March 01, 2010 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.
Born in Santa Maria, Texas on August 7, 1934 he had been a resident of Brownsville for a number of years. He was a devoted employee with the Butter Krust Bread Co. for almost 30 years and retired in 1993. After retirement, he enjoyed being at home surrounded by family. He enjoyed watching novellas and football games.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose and Maria Aguilar; and a brother, Arnoldo Aguilar.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving wife of 54 years, Enedina Cadena Aguilar; his children: Jeannie (Raul Jr.) Martinez, David Aguilar, and Delia Aguilar; his grandchildren: David Aguilar Jr. and Sarah Christine Dierlam; and one great-grandson, Ian Edward Aguilar. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters: Elodia (Eloy+) Villarreal, Guadalupe Aguilar, Armando (Herlinda) Aguilar, Abel (Ninfa) Aguilar, Alonzo (Nancy) Aguilar, and Anna (Joseph) Davila; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis St. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. His brothers: Armando, Abel, and Alonzo Aguilar, along with Julio Sierra, Ramon Saldivar and Felix Zepeda are honored to be serving as Beto’s pallbearers.
