Ramona V. Dimas, 88, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, July 16, 2018.
Ramona, a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. Ramona was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Ramona is preceded in death by her husband, Juan C. Dimas; 3 sisters: Rosa Vasquez, Juanita Dimas, and Lupe Leal; and 5 brothers: Alfredo, Trinidad, Paulino, Ernesto and Enrique Vasquez De Leon.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her 10 children: Juan (Margarita+) Dimas, Teresa Vasquez Dimas, Jesus (Altagracia) Dimas, Reymundo Dimas, Pedro ''Pete'' (Graciela) Dimas, Norma (Jesus+) Garza, Elida (Juan) Vela, Mary Hernandez, Cristina (Juan) Rodriguez, and Beatriz ''Betty Jo'' Cisneros. Ramona will also be missed by her 29 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Olga (Roman+) Garcia in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and numerous extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Road. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Ramona's sons, Juan, Reymundo and Pedro along with her 3 grandsons, Pedro Dimas, Jr., Simon Cisneros Jr., and Arnold Garcia and 2 great-grandsons, Vincent and Eloy Tanguma Jr. are honored to be serving as her pallbearers.
