BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Alfredo Munoz, Jr., distinguished biology educator and professor, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away on Wednesday the 23rd of August 2023 in Harlingen, Texas. He was seventy-five years of age.

Alfredo was born in Brownsville, Texas on August 1, 1948, son of the late Alfredo Munoz, Sr. and Maria Concepcion De La Rosa. He attended Brownsville schools and graduated from Brownsville High School in 1967. Alfredo went on to Pan American College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1971 and later received his Master of Science degree from Pan American University in 1975.

Alfredo had over forty years teaching, with thirty-nine years of service at The University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB).
