Amalia R. Zepeda

Amalia R. Zepeda passed away on Thursday, September 16, at the age of 105. She was preceded in death by her husband Trinidad N. Zepeda, her parents, and eight of nine siblings. Her sister Carlota Martinez survives her. Amalia was the most loving and caring mother to four children: Rogerio (Gladys) Zepeda, Oscar (Dolores) Zepeda, Celina (Marcos) Mendoza, and Evangelina (Felipe) Lopez. She was blessed to have nine wonderful grandchildren: Roy (Judy) Zepeda, Jr., Lissa (Luis) Frausto, Charlie (Stefanie) Zepeda, Yvonne (Ralph) Smith, Miguel Alan Zepeda (Crystalina Hernandez), Kazia Rose Zepeda (Dan Fjerstad), Eddie Lopez, Erik (Rachael) Zepeda, and Matt Zepeda. She was surrounded by love from her seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank our extended family and friends for the love and friendship that was shown to our mother.  Her productive life was enriched by the time shared with her.

Amalia was a woman of great faith and a prayer warrior.  We take great comfort in knowing she is with her Lord. She was a life-long member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church since it was founded. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1200 Lincoln St., Brownsville, TX 78521, 956-542-4823.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 24, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the Rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. that evening.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 25, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

Interment will take place on October 2, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. at Buena Vista Cemetery.
