BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Antonio Alviar, of 89 years, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on January 24, 1932. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 6, 1957 and for almost 64 years was an excellent example of faithful loyalty. He was a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather who had great love for all his family and will be truly missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Aida (Santiago) Casas and Antonio (Dinaluisa) Alviar Jr.; his 8 grandchildren Andrew Alviar, Anthony Alviar, Nathan (Priscilla) Casas, Abraham Casas, Audrie Marie (Adrian) Trejo, Jordan (Carolyn) Smith, Autumn Smith, and Ashley Smith; 5 great-grandchildren Kaleb and Mia Casas, Liam and River Smith, and Annabelle Alviar; his 4 brothers Dionicio, Manuel, Doroteo, Jr., and Roberto Alvear. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorina S. Alviar; his parents Doroteo and Maria Alvear; 4 brothers Samuel, Alonzo, Samuel and Jorge; and a sister, Oralia A. Garcia.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Darling-Mouser Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a video presentation remembering the life of Antonio Alviar to begin at 6:30 p.m and a discourse at 7 p.m. Burial services will be Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
