Mr. Artemio R. Caballero Saldivar, 67, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Jimenez, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Artemio had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. Artemio was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.
Artemio is preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Artemio Raul Caballero and a brother, Jose M. Caballero.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving wife of 45 years, Rosa Maria R. de Caballero; the 3 daughters that were his pride and joy: Maria Alejandra Caballero and her husband Manuel Valdez; Rosa Maria Ibarra and her husband Jorge, and Nereida Rodriguez and her husband Dagoberto; and the six grandchildren that were the apple of his eye: Jorge Alberto Ibarra II, Artemio Raul Ibarra, Josemanuel Valdez, Dariella Dolores Ibarra, Alekzander Valdez, and Zoe Rodriguez. Artemio will also be missed by his sisters: Maria de los Angeles Caballero, Nereida "Nere" Flores and her husband Luis, and Eva Acevedo and her husband Elioth; his brother, Lauro (Yolanda+) Caballero along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Monday, June 18, 2018 in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Darling-Mouser. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at St. Eugene de Mazenod Catholic Church, 5409 Austin Rd. All services will conclude after and the Mass and in accordance with Artemio's wishes, cremation will follow.
