Blake Alexander Angelos

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Blake Alexander Angelos passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, the 4th of November 2025. He was 34 years of age.

Born on October 22, 1991 in Brownsville, Texas, Blake was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Blake’s untimely passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Those who have had the pleasure of knowing Blake will remember him for his deep love of his family, his friends, cooking, music, and soccer. When not spending hours in the kitchen, Blake could often be found playing guitar in the pool house, laughing on the soccer field, or thinking about what he’d cook up next. Blake was kind-hearted, talented, silly, and very, very loved.

Following his graduation from St. Joseph’s Academy (’10), Blake went on to graduate from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas with a degree in Biology (‘14), and the Culinary Institute of America Texas in San Antonio (’19). Blake’s passion for food and his talent for cooking was evident in the beautiful and delicious recipes he crafted, most often with a nod to his Greek heritage, in which he took great pride. Blake brought his talents back home to Brownsville in 2022, when he became the head chef of South Padre Island’s Viva and developed dishes that will have a lasting impact on the Brownsville and South Padre Island culinary scene.

Preceding Blake in death are his grandmothers, Deanna Mitros Angelos and Nancy Lee Miller Goodwin.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Dr. George M. Angelos and Kimberly Goodwin Angelos; his grandfathers, Mitchell Angelos and Paul Goodwin; his brother, Brandon Angelos and his wife, Taylor; his sister, Brittany Angelos Aur and her husband, Jonathan; his nieces, Sydney Helena Angelos and Celina Angelos Aur; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Although his physical presence is no longer with us, we ask that you join us in thought and prayer as we honor Blake’s life and the memories of him that we will forever cherish.
