BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Charles Frank “Frank” Wood passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, the 14th of April 2025 at the age of 49. He was born in Brownsville on July 13, 1975. Upon graduation from St. Joseph Academy in 1993, he continued his education at The University of Texas at Brownsville. He went on to attend and graduate from The University of Arkansas School of Law. Frank specialized in real estate matters and quickly distinguished himself in that field with his professional and personal integrity, his sharp legal mind, and his ability to calmly resolve problems. His work life was characterized by a bond of deep mutual respect and trust with his clients.
Frank grew up in a close family and was a true family man. He loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with them. Above all, he cherished his beloved wife, Becky, and his pride and joy, his son, Frankie. In addition to cooking and traveling with them, he particularly enjoyed surprising his son Frankie with weekend hunting and fishing trips.
Frank will always be remembered as a true gentleman, for his down-to-earth good nature, his intelligence, his loyal friendships and his constructive attitude toward all things. He was a mentor to all whom he met, always willing to share his time, wisdom and guidance. He believed deeply in hard work, the value of sharing his talents with his community, and prioritizing family relationships. As a man of strong Catholic faith, Frank always strived to look out for his fellow man. He leaves behind an incredible legacy and he will be dearly missed by so many people.
He is survived by his wife, Becky, and his son, Frankie. He is also survived by his parents, John and Virginia Wood; his brother, Kris Wood (Carolyn); his nieces, Vivian and Olivia Wood; his mother-in-law, Ester Cardenas; and numerous cousins.
