Cecilia Guerrero Torres

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Cecilia Guerrero Torres entered into eternal rest on Saturday, the 23rd of March 2024 in Brownsville, Texas. She was ninety-eight years of age.

Cecilia was born in Mexico on December 07, 1925, daughter of the late Esteban Guerrero and Candelaria Ramirez. Cecilia was a founding member of La Iglesia del Pueblo Pentecostal Church. As a founding member, she dedicated her time teaching women in Sunday Bible classes. Cecilia loved sewing and loved working in her garden.

Preceding Cecilia in death were her parents, Esteban Guerrero and Candelaria Ramirez; her husband, Librado Torres; her son, Enrique Torres; her brother, Arnulfo Guerrero, and her sister, Isabel Guerrero Ybarra.

Survivors include her three sons Raul Torres Sr. (Elsa), Alfredo Torres Sr. (Zina), and Arturo Torres (Hilda); her eleven grandchildren Raul Torres, Jr., Norelisa Torres, Patricia Torres, Alfredo “Freddy” Torres, Jr., Enrique Torres, Michael Leo Torres, Matthew Esteban Torres, Stacy Torres, Roberto Alfredo Torres, Shayla Torres, and Ashley Torres; her eleven great-grandchildren; her brother, Isidro “Manuel” Torres; her sister, Santos Peña; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 28th of March 2024 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at six o'clock Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

Visiting hours will resume on Friday, the 29th of March 2024 from nine to half past nine o’clock in the morning. A Graveside Service will follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.

Honored to serve as her pallbearers are Raul Jr., Freddy, Enrique, Michael, and Matthew. Alonzo Rodriguez will serve as honorary pallbearer.
