OLMITO, TX. - Celia R. Carrejo entered into rest on Monday, the 1st of April 2024 in Harlingen, Texas. She was eighty-eight years of age.
Celia was born in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 11, 1935, daughter of the late Antonio Rodriguez and Maria Jaramillo. She was a longtime resident of Olmito and a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Celia was also a talented seamstress, and enjoyed sewing and baking.
Preceding Celia in death was her beloved husband Israel Carrejo; her parents, Antonio Rodriguez and Maria Jaramillo; her daugther-in-law, Leticia Carrejo; and her granddaughter, Alma E. Carrejo.
Survivors include her children Jose Miguel Carrejo, Juan Enrique Carrejo (Vilma), Jaime Carrejo, Rene Israel Carrejo (Laura), and Claudia Rocio Gutierrez (Jose); her thirteen grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Molly.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, the 7th of April 2024 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Sunday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.A Chapel Service will commence at twelve noon on Monday, the 8th of April 2024. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 26170 TX-345, San Benito.Honored to serve as her pallbearers will be Enrique Carrejo, Jaime Carrejo, Rene Carrejo, Jonathan Carrejo, Josue Gutierrez, and Jose Gutierrez.
