David Allen Del Castillo

COMBES, TX. – David Allen del Castillo entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, the 5th of July 2022 at his Combes residence. He was sixty-eight years of age.

David was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts and was a lifelong resident of Brownsville and Combes, Texas. He was the foreman for Ken’s Grain Fumigation Company for the last fifteen years. Prior to that, David worked in local construction.

Preceding David in death were his parents, Jose Adrian “Joe” del Castillo and Lois del Castillo; his nephew, Graham A. Nye; and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his siblings Judy Edelman (Roger), Jeff del Castillo (Janet), Diana del Castillo-Nye, Joe del Castillo, and Michelle del Castillo-Davis (Cooper); his uncle, Wayne Ceballos; his aunt, Lidia Castaneda (Armando); nieces and nephews Danielle Shelton, Christa Lee, Blair Nye, Miles Nye, Emily Nye-McMahon, Aaron James Davis, and Adrienne Davis; and numerous beloved cousins. He is also survived by his lifelong partner and cherished friend, Marta E. Lozano.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 14th of July 2022 between the hours of five o’clock in the afternoon and eight o’clock at night, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at seven o’clock Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. In accordance with David’s wishes, his cremated remains will be scattered in the waters off of Boca Chica Beach.

The family would like to thank Bobby and Jamie Crisp of Ken’s Grain Fumigation for their kindness and for the support they provided to David over the years.
