BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Gilbert O. "Tito" Gutierrez, loving father, grandfather, brother, U.S. Army Veteran, and skilled electrician, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, the 23rd of April 2024 at his Brownsville residence. He was sixty-four years of age.

Gilbert was born in Brownsville, Texas on January 23, 1960. He spent his childhood in Chicago, Illinois where he enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army, he went on to pursue a successful career, applying his expertise as a dedicated electrician.

Gilbert was known for his love of classic rock music, converse high tops and target shooting. He was a dedicated Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan, he loved shopping at flea markets, local thrift stores, and barbecuing on Sundays. He was always dedicated to his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He cherished spending time with his daughters, granddaughter and family. He also enjoyed going to gun shows as well as San Antonio Spurs games. Gilbert will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Preceding Gilbert in death were his parents, Manuel and Enriqueta Gutierrez.

Survivors include his three daughters Monique G. Rocha (Emmanuel Rocha), Nikole Gutierrez, and Lourdes Gutierrez; his cherished granddaughter, Cecilia M. Rocha; his four sisters Iliana Gutierrez, Hayde Gutierrez, Liria Gutierrez, and Sandra Gutierrez Resendez; his brother, Manuel Gutierrez; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, the 30th of April 2024 between the hours of one o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2405 E. Tyler Street, Brownsville, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o’clock Tuesday evening within the church.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at twelve noon on Wednesday, the 1st of May 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
