Gracie Bazaldua Gumbel

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Gracie Bazaldua Gumbel, of Brownsville, Texas, retired owner of Yoga Fit by Gracie, interior designer, and world traveler across six continents, was peacefully called home on Saturday, the 31st of January 2026, while resting in her sleep during a vacation in Healdsburg, California. She was 60 years of age.

Gracie was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She lived her life anchored in faith, guided by love, and strengthened by grace. Her spirit reflected kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her beautiful family.

She will be remembered for her radiant beauty, inner strength, and the light she so freely shared with all who knew her. Though her earthly journey has ended, her love continues to live on in every heart she touched.

Gracie is lovingly survived by her husband, Dr. Francis Gumbel; her children, Horacio Sebastian Gumbel and his wife Julia, Ashley Jewell Gumbel, and Richard Simon Gumbel; her cherished grandchildren, Lola, Yahel, Gabby, and Yaniv; her parents, Simon and Margarita Bazaldua; and by her siblings, Salvador, Sylvia, Sarah, Sandra, Sonoko, and Sergio.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, the 14th of February 2026 between the hours of twelve noon and four o'clock in the afternoon, with a Celebration of Life service to begin at two o'clock Saturday afternoon within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
