BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Guadalupe Salinas Cerda descansó en la eternidad el viernes 19 de diciembre de 2025 en la comodidad de su residencia en Brownsville, rodeado de su amada familia. Tenía 77 años de edad.

Guadalupe nació el 23 de octubre de 1948 en Matamoros, México, hijo del fallecido Candelario Salinas y Guadalupe Cerda Salinas, y durante la mayor parte de su vida vivió en Brownsville, Texas, donde obtuvo su ciudadanía estadounidense. Fue un esposo y padre querido, y un abuelo devoto. Se casó con el amor de su vida, su amor de la infancia, Marina Juárez Montañez, el 21 de octubre de 1972, y juntos tuvieron dos hijas fuertes y hermosas, Lupita y Marina. Guadalupe trabajó durante 10 años en Mac's Toys, luego en el almacén del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Brownsville por 10 años, y pasó los últimos 30 años trabajando en el Puerto de Brownsville, en West Maritime y Gulf Stream Marine. Como católico devoto, fue un miembro activo junto con su esposa Marina en la Iglesia Católica Buen Pastor en Brownsville.

Sobreviven su amada y devota esposa de 53 años, Marina Salinas Juárez; sus queridas hijas, Lupita Salinas y Marina Salinas; sus nietos, Rigoberto Cepeda (Sabrina Cisneros Cepeda) y Andrea Miranda Cepeda; y sus hermanos, Juan Salinas, Candelario Salinas, Bertha Sánchez y Ángel Salinas.

Las horas de visita se llevarán a cabo el martes 23 de diciembre de 2025, entre la una de la tarde y las nueve de la noche, con la recitación del santo rosario a las siete de la tarde en la Capilla Este de Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

La Misa Funeraria se celebrará a las diez de la mañana del miércoles 24 de diciembre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica Buen Pastor, ubicada en 2645 Tulipán Street, Brownsville, oficiada por el Rvdo. Rafael Vega. Posteriormente, se llevará a cabo la sepultura, en una procesión escoltada, en el Parque de Sepulturas Buena Vista, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Guadalupe Salinas Cerda entered into eternal rest on Friday, the 19th of December 2025 in the comfort of his Brownsville residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years of age.

Guadalupe was born on October 23, 1948 in Matamoros, Mexico, son of the late Candelario Salinas and Guadalupe Cerda Salinas, and for most of his life, lived in Brownsville, Texas where he obtained his U.S. citizenship. He was a beloved husband and father, and a devoted grandfather. He married the love of his life and childhood sweetheart Marina Juarez Montañez on October 21, 1972, and together they had two strong and beautiful daughters, Lupita and Marina. Guadalupe worked at Mac's Toys for 10 years, then for the Brownsville Independent School District Warehouse for 10 years, and spent the past 30 years working at the Port of Brownsville, at West Maritime and Gulf Stream Marine. A devout Catholic, he was an avid parishioner along with his wife Marina at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Brownsville.

Preceding Guadalupe in death are his parents, Candelario and Guadalupe Cerda Salinas; his sisters, Elvira Salinas and Virginia Salinas Diaz; his parents-in-law, Felipe and Andrea Juarez; and his brothers-in-law, Felipe Juarez Montañez, Mario Juarez Montañez, Guillermo Juarez Montañez, and Benito Juarez Montañez.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Marina Salinas Juarez; his beloved daughters, Lupita Salinas and Marina Salinas; his grandchildren, Rigoberto Cepeda (Sabrina Cisneros Cepeda) and Andrea Miranda Cepeda; and his siblings, Juan Salinas, Candelario Salinas, Bertha Sánchez, and Angel Salinas.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, the 23rd of December 2025 between the hours of one o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to be recited at seven o'clock Tuesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 24th of December 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2645 Tulipan Street, Brownsville, officiated by Rev. Rafael Vega. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.

Honored to serve as his pallbearers will be Rigoberto Cepeda, Gilberto Salinas, Sergio Juarez, Jorge Alberto Ibarra, Victor Hugo Nava, Kristian Vasquez, Charlie Abrego, and Juan Miguel Salinas.
