RANCHO VIEJO, TX. – Larry Genuchi, 78, of Rancho Viejo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, the 30th of August 2026, in Brownsville, Texas. 

Born in Princeton, New Jersey to Marvin and Kathleen (Wiggs) Genuchi, Larry spent his life in media, communications, and teaching. Those who knew him enjoyed his humor, as well as his ability to speak knowledgeably on a variety of subjects. He was a talented English teacher who was adored by his students.

During Larry’s academic career in the Brownsville Independent School District, he met his beloved wife, Patricia Jo. They were married in 1995. He retired from teaching in 2017.

A graduate of Texas Tech University, Larry loved all things “Red Raider”. He also followed Kansas City Chiefs football, acknowledging that their great quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, was also a Tech graduate.

Larry is survived by his wife, Pat Genuchi; sister, Vena Beth Alesio (Tommy); son, Matthew Genuchi (Meridith); nieces Chelsea Genuchi and Josey-Blue Messick (Micah); and granddaughters, Lila and Ellie Genuchi. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Christopher Genuchi; and brother, Skip Genuchi.

The family will gather for private family memorial at a later date.
