Heriberto Elizondo Cantu

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS. – Heriberto Elizondo Cantú partió al descanso eterno el domingo 17 de mayo de 2026, en la comodidad de su residencia en Brownsville, rodeado del amor de su familia. Contaba con 95 años de edad.

Heriberto nació en 1931 en China, Nuevo León, México, hijo de los ya fallecidos Canuto Elizondo y Enriqueta Cantú. Fue residente de muchos años de Brownsville, Texas, donde fue propietario y operador de Elizondo Crane Service.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Canuto Elizondo y Enriqueta Cantú; así como sus hermanos Edelmiro, Eleazar, Enrique, Eliud y Edelia.

Le sobreviven su amada y devota esposa, Ethelvina Gutiérrez Elizondo; sus hijos Heriberto Jr., Edna, Carlos, Jorge, Sergio y Marvin; varios nietos y bisnietos; así como su hermana Esther Fantini.

La familia recibirá las condolencias el miércoles 20 de mayo de 2026, de las cuatro de la tarde a las nueve de la noche, con el rezo del Santo Rosario a las siete de la tarde en la Capilla Este de Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

La Misa de Funeral será celebrada a las dos de la tarde del jueves 21 de mayo de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica St. Mary’s, ubicada en 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville. Posteriormente, se llevará a cabo el sepelio, mediante procesión escoltada, en el Mausoleo de Buena Vista Burial Park, ubicado en 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Heriberto Elizondo Cantu entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 17th of May 2026 in the comfort of his Brownsville residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 95 years of age.

Heriberto was born in 1931 in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, son of the late Canuto Elizondo and Enriqueta Cantu. He was a longtime resident of Brownsville, Texas where he was the owner and operator of Elizondo Crane Service.

Preceding Heriberto in death are his parents, Canuto Elizondo and Enriqueta Cantu, and his siblings, Edelmiro, Eleazar, Enrique, Eliud, and Edelia.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Ethelvina Gutierrez Elizondo; his children, Heriberto, Jr., Edna, Carlos, Jorge, Sergio, and Marvin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Esther Fantini.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 20th of May 2026 between the hours of four o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to be recited at seven o'clock Wednesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 21st of May 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville. Entombment will then follow, via an escorted procession, within the Buena Vista Burial Park Mausoleum, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
