Jo Anne Glenn Reed

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Jo Anne (Glenn) Reed was lovingly ushered into her heavenly home on Thursday, September 23, 2021, to forever be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Born on July 13, 1931, Jo Anne was 90 years old at the time of her passing.

She was happily married for 67 years and is survived by her husband Roy Earl Reed Sr. She is also survived by her sons Randy (wife Cheryl), Roy (wife Cathy) and Roman (wife Sally), and her daughters Jayne (husband John Davis), and Cindy (husband Herb Mills). She always loved and treasured her 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of Joseph Paul and Minnie Mae Glenn, sister of Betty Jean Faulk, and is also survived by her younger brother Paul Glenn (wife Carol).

Affectionately known as Mimi, she lived a life of Christian example for her family and many others to see. After graduating from Baylor University, she taught school, married and eventually moved with her husband Roy to Tampico, Mexico, where they raised a family of 5 children.  Eventually returning to Brownsville, she resumed her teaching career and earned a Master’s degree. She worked for many years in the Certified Personnel Administration (HR) Department of the Brownsville Independent School District, where she mentored and influenced many young teachers and administrators, eventually retiring to spend more time with her family. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She remained a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout her entire life. We will miss her greatly but will soon be reunited with her in Heaven!  We praise God for giving us the incredible blessing of knowing and loving her. Amen!

The family will gather for a graveside service at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 4th of October 2021 at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
