BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Jon-Robert Baxter Kirkconnell, affectionately known as Jrob, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, the 7th of November 2025 in Brunswick, Georgia. He was 31 years of age.
Jon-Robert was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 27, 1994. He was a lifelong resident of Brownsville where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of Los Fresnos, where he attended Los Fresnos High School. Currently, Jrob was working as a roofer in construction. His favorite pastimes included skateboarding and fishing at South Padre Island with his father. He always had a big smile and an even bigger heart, and will always be remembered for his loving personality.
Preceding Jon-Robert in death are his mother, Kathleen Greta Strong; his paternal grandparents, Baxter Holman Kirkconnell and Pearl Feurtado Kirkconnell; and his maternal grandparents, Kathleen Jewel De La Rosa and Jesus Jose "Jesse" De La Rosa.
Survivors include his father, John Oliver Kirkconnell (Selma); his siblings, Jewel Nicole Gracia, Isabel Sienna Kirkconnell, and Tristan Oliver Kirkconnell; his Pitbull, Tex; as well as numerous extended family members and a host of many friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 20th of November 2025 between the hours of one o'clock and six o'clock in the evening, with a Celebration of Life service to begin at four o'clock Thursday afternoon within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. All services conclude Thursday evening. Cremation will follow.
