Jose Angel "Joe" Garcia

SAN BENITO, TX. - Mr. Jose Angel Garcia, 91, affectionately known by many as Joe, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen, Texas.

Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, and  Kincheloe Air Force Base in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After serving our nation for over 20 years, Joe honorably retired and went on to Texas State Technical College in Harlingen, Texas where he earned his degree in Ranch and Livestock Operation. In his spare time, he enjoyed numerous outings at the beach and liked fishing and boating, but spent most of his retirement taking care of his ranch. He also loved to cook. Joe was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known him.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Electra Pantel Garcia; and by his parents, Aurelio Garcia, Sr. and Concepcion Flores Garcia.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his children: Norma L. Garcia, Debra A. Freeman, Sandra J. DeLeon, and James P. Garcia; two grandchildren; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. with military honors at 6:00 p.m. Monday evening under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #2035. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow. All services will conclude on Monday evening, and in accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow.
