BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Jose Catarino Sanchez, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, the 11th of July 2020 in Brownsville, Texas at the age of fifty.

Jose was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, educator, and friend to many. He was a devout and faithful Christian who loved and served The Lord Jesus. Jose graduated from The University of Texas at Brownsville with a Bachelor’s in Science and was later employed with the Harlingen Independent School District for the last several years where he was currently an educator and athletic coach at Coakley Middle School. His favorite pastimes were spending quality time with his family and grilling, particularly barbecuing for numerous outdoor family gatherings. He also enjoyed playing and watching soccer games while cheering on the C.F. Monterrey Soccer Team, in addition to watching the Dallas Cowboys football team and Houston Astros baseball team play during season. Jose will always be remembered for his loving, caring, compassionate and generous personality. He was a dedicated individual who was hardworking and a genuinely honest man. He will be dearly missed by all of those fortunate enough to have known him.

He was preceded in death by his mother on the 5th of July 2020, Mrs. Maria Teresa Loza Sanchez; his sister, Laura Veronica Sanchez; maternal grandparents, Andres Loza and Maria Luisa Garza Loza and paternal grandparents, Jose E. Sanchez and Petra Gaitan Sanchez; and by his uncles, Mario Loza and Arnoldo Loza, and aunt, Euvalda Serna.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his devoted and loving wife of eight years, Dioana B. Sanchez; their children: Brenda Ayleen Sanchez, JayCee Anthony Sanchez, Kayla Alexis Sanchez, and Roxanna J. Pena; his father, Jose Catarino Sanchez; siblings: Marissa Moreno (Jose Angel), Laura Gonzalez (Alfredo), and Dalilah Lara (Leonel); as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Services will be private as per the request of the family.
