Josefina Antonia Rosales

Josefina Antonia Rosales, 86, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 9, 2018, at her daughter's residence in Mission, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Finita, as she was affectionately known to all, was born in Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico, but was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. Finita was a devoted wife and mother. Family was everything to her. She was not only an amazing mother, she was a true friend to all her children. A devout Catholic, she was a devoted parishioner for many years at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Finita followed the Golden Rule of "Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you". She never had a bad word about anyone or anything. She always saw the bright side. Her glass was always half full not half empty. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, working on word searches, and watching her favorite programs on TV.

Finita was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Finita is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Antonio Rosales Sr.; her parents, Maria Teresa and Alfredo Salinas; and a sister, Consuelo Salinas Almanza.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are a son, Jose Antonio (Blanca) Rosales, Jr.; 6 daughters: Margie R. (Jim) Dominguez, Alicia R. (Robert) Godinez, Delia R. (George) Mirabal, Maria Teresa R. Cruz, Josefina "Josie" (Roland) Ramirez, and Rosalinda R. McKay. Finita will also be missed by her 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-granddaughters, 2 sisters: Maria Dolores (Santos+) Marmolejo and Celia S. (Esequiel+) Carr; 1 brother, Rogelio (Esther) Salinas along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the West Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A rosary service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. All services will conclude on Tuesday evening and in accordance with Finita's wishes, cremation will follow.
