LOS FRESNOS, TX. – Jose “Joe” Magdaleno Jimenez, of Los Fresnos, Texas, retired United States Army Veteran, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, the 4th of April 2023 in the comfort of his residence surrounded by his loving family after a hard-fought battle with gallbladder cancer. He was eighty years of age. Jose was born on August 17, 1942 in Tanhuato, Michoacan, Mexico, son of the late Guadalupe Magdaleno Resendez and Ramon Jimenez Cuevas.

Throughout his life, Jose was a resident of Brownsville, San Benito and Los Fresnos, Texas. Jose was an avid collector and always enjoyed finding unique trinkets and antiques. He enjoyed classical Mexican boleros and American Western classic films. He was a strong man who overcame many hardships, but always found the power to persevere, continue learning, and never stopped sharing his love and compassionate spirit.
