Karen P. Dunn

BROWNSVILLE, TX. -Karen Patricia Dunn (Olson) passed away on Saturday, the 7th of March 2026 after living a long and spirited life. She was born November 16, 1939, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and spent the last 16 years in Brownsville, Texas, where she made many friends and made it her home.

Karen was feisty, opinionated, and never afraid to speak her mind. She had a strong will, a bold presence, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her fiery spirit, her humor, and the love she shared with her family, good friends, and her loyal four-legged friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, and by her daughter, Amy.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ives (Paul); three grandchildren, Andrew (Lydia), Allison (Zachery), and Alexander (Payton); five great-grandchildren, with one more expected in April; her devoted and the best caregivers, Lupita and Ruth; and many cherished friends, including those at the “19th Hole”.

A Celebration of Life will be held at four o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 12th of March 2026, at the Valley International Country Club, 301 McFadden Hut Drive, Brownsville.
