Kevin Michael Wise

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX. - Kevin Michael Wise passed away in Brownsville, Texas on Monday, the 11th of August 2025 at the age of 44.

He is survived by two sons, Brandon Michael and James Ethan Wise of Austin, Texas; his mother, Drue Ann Wise; two brothers, a sister, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Stephen R. Wise, and by his maternal grandmother, Frances McHugh.

Kevin was extremely active, constantly working on projects. He loved living on South Padre Island where he enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets, sky-gazing, fishing, and spending time with his love, Vanessa Fernandez, and his sons when they visited during summers. He also had a love of meteorology and the weather and was an all around outdoor’s man. Kevin had recently taken up photography to capture his life on the island.

Kevin enjoyed cooking and spent some time as a sous chef, but mostly enjoyed creating meals and grilling at home. He was known for his great sense of humor and wit. He was working on the island at the time of his death and really enjoyed what he did and the people he worked with.

The family will gather for a private service on South Padre Island.
