BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Leonard Neal Reese, affectionately known as Lenny or Len, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, the 2nd of January 2024 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. He was sixty-eight years of age.

Leonard was born in Aransas Pass, Texas on August 19, 1955, son of John Paul Reese and Frances Deason Reese. The family later relocated to Brownsville, Texas where Leonard attended Ebony Heights Elementary, Stell Junior High, and graduated from Brownsville High School. While in high school, Leonard toured Europe and Canada with the BHS Band. He went on to attend Texas Southmost College and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Throughout his career, Leonard served as President of Toastmasters while residing in California, taught as a dance instructor while residing in Houston, Texas, and as a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary, worked as a skilled chef. His favorite pastimes included fishing, cooking, and enjoying music.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Paul Reese; his brother, John Edric Reese; his grandparents, Emma HS Reese, Edric Deason, and Catherine Casterline Deason; and his aunt and uncles Jackie Miller, Tommy Bradshaw, and John Zink.

Leonard leaves behind his loving and devoted mother, Frances D. Reese; his sister, Coral Graham; his aunts Linda Bradshaw, Judy Zink, and Cathy King; his cousins Freddy Bradshaw, Jeff Bradshaw, John Zink, Gina Zink, Lance Harris, Roxanne Harris, and Rhonda Miller; and his nieces and nephews Savannah Solis, Ryan Solis, Natalie Solis, Damian Jacob Solis, and Hailey Galarza.

Visiting hours with the family will be held on Saturday, the 6th of January 2024 between the hours of ten o’clock in the morning and twelve noon within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
