Linda Chavez Rodriguez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Herlinda (Linda) Chavez Rodriguez entered into eternal rest on New Years Day, Wednesday, the 1st of January 2020 in Brownsville, Texas with her daughter Ida by her side. She was seventy-one years of age.

Linda was a musically talented and gifted individual, often found playing the piano and singing opera, passing on her love for music on to her daughter, Ida Ruth. Together, they enjoyed watching the Star Wars trilogy and attended numerous productions and musicals at Camille Playhouse Theater. Linda was very faithful to the Lord, a devout prayer warrior, and always prayed with others. She was an avid collector of an assortment of unicorns and Jersey cows pieces, and taught herself how to knit with a loom. Linda will always be remembered as a very kind, compassionate, and caring woman who loved her family, friends, and the animals.

Her parents, Luis Chavez Galvan and Antonia Chavez; father of their child, Lionel Rodriguez; and siblings Lucio Aguilar (missing in action – Korea), Ernesto Aguilar, and Consuelo Aguilar, preceded her in death.

Linda is survived by her only child Ida Ruth Rodriguez (Fred Garza); brother, Ernesto Galvan (Donna); nephew, Michael Werbiski (Christel); and by her nieces, Estrella Galvan Alberter (Michael) and Angelina Galvan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, the 19th of January 2020 between the hours of three o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night. A Chapel Service will commence at six o’clock Sunday evening within the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

All funeral services will conclude Sunday night, and in accordance with the final wishes of Ms. Chavez Rodriguez, cremation is to follow.
