BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Luis “Louie” Frausto, Jr. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, the 26th of October 2022 on South Padre Island, Texas following injuries sustained in a boating accident while fishing. He was sixty-four years of age.

Louie, also affectionately known as Nuno and Gungo by many, was born on April 30, 1958 in Brownsville, Texas, son of Luis Frausto, Sr. and Catalina Hernandez Frausto. He was raised in Brownsville on the border, by the sea, and attended schools at Canales Elementary, Faulk Middle School, and graduated from Gladys Porter High School in 1976. Louie worked as a technician and a manager in air conditioning and refrigeration. He retired from Wal-Mart after twenty-one years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors as an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved spending time with his family. Louie will be remembered for his generosity and kindness towards others and will be missed by all of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Preceding Louie in death were his parents, Luis Frausto, Sr. and Catalina H. Frausto.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Lissa Zepeda Frausto; his children, Lenis Frausto Grant, Rebecca Lizette Frausto, and Ashley Marie Fuentes Pena; his grandchildren Orlando Izamani Leon, Ivy Rebekah Grant, Lucca Davi Frausto, Gavin Lee Fuentes, Izrail Lestat Pena III, Leia Marie Koonce, Luke Gordon Koonce, and Jaxxyn Ava Solis; and his siblings Elvia De Leon Perez, Jaime Frausto, and Noe Frausto; in addition to numerous extended family members and a host of many friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 2nd of November 2022 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o’clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o’clock Wednesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 3rd of November 2022 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive, Brownsville. Cremation will immediately follow the mass. Inurnment will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 4th of November 2022 at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard.
