BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Major David Levi DuBois, Retired entered into eternal rest on Thursday, the 26th of September 2024 at Fox Hollow Post Acute in Brownsville, Texas after a battle with stage IV brain cancer. He was 83 years of age.

David was born in Winslow, Arizona on November 2, 1940, son of H. L. Dadisman aka George B. DuBois and Lila Brinkerhoff. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in Phoenix, Arizona, attending Air Command and Staff College and Squadron Officer School, and later went on to obtain his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. Throughout his military career, David was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Seven Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Armed Forced Exped Medal, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Bronze Star, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. 

He was assigned as a pilot to the squadron that flew Air Force One under the administrations of Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter. David received a promotion to Major and transferred to The Pentagon. After twenty years and one day with the United States Air Force, David honorably retired at The Pentagon in Washington, D.C in March 1980 and moved to Brownsville, Texas later that year. 

David was a renown freight founder, specializing in ocean freight, and a custom broker for numerous years, and created many lifelong business partnerships and friendships. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

Preceding David in death were his parents, H. L. Dadisman aka George B. DuBois and Lila Brinkerhoff; his siblings, Ken Barbara and R. B. Ashworth; and his grandmother, Alma Reuben Turley-Brinkerhoff. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Kay DuBois; his children, James David DuBois and Adina Leigh DuBois; his daughter-in-law, Virginia Torres de DuBois; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn V. DuBois and Jaymee A. DuBois. 

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 3rd of October 2024 between the hours of four o'clock in the afternoon and eight o'clock at night within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Local services will conclude Thursday night.

Inurnment with military honors will be held at a quarter past one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 7th of October 2024 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209. 

In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, contributions in memory of David may be directed to any cancer research organization of your preference.
