BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Armandina G. Medellin, affectionately known as Mandy to many, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, the 15th of October 2024 at Valley Regional Medical Center. She was 71 years of age.

Mandy was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 12, 1953, daughter of the late Feliciano and Ernestina Villarreal. After graduating Brownsville High School, she went on to attend Texas Women's University where she obtained her Bachelors of Social Work and later obtained her Bachelors of Education from Pan American University. She was a social worker and retired as an educator. She was a member of Women's Aglow, the Children's Church Ministry, Damas para Cristo, and Prayer Team "Fire to the Nations." Her favorite pastimes included arts and crafts, cooking, baking, singing, and reading.

Mandy was known for her sense of humor with silly antics and will be greatly missed by those that were fortunate to have known her.

Preceding Mandy in death were her parents, Feliciano and Ernestina Villarreal. 

Survivors include her husband, Javier F. Medellin; her siblings Mirna Nelda Villarreal, Diana P. Villarreal, Gina Slaydon (James), Feliciano Villarreal, Jr. (Lucy), and Ernestina Garcia (Pastor Jerry); and her nieces and nephews Ray Gonzalez (Anabelle), Laura Lisa Gonzalez, Tricia Altum, John Michael Gonzalez, Analisa Garcia, Rebekah Garcia, Miriam Olson (Dustin), Amy Cobos (Jaciel), Kaitlin Elizabeth Slaydon, Daniel Villarreal (Jennifer), David Andrew Villarreal (Cassie), and Alyssa Villarreal. 

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 17th of October 2024 between the hours of one o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at half past six o'clock Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. 

A Chapel Service will commence at two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 18th of October 2024 within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville. 

Honored to serve as her pallbearers will be Ray Gonzalez, John Michael Gonzalez, Feliciano Villarreal, Jr., Daniel Villarreal, David Andrew Villarreal, Dustin Olson, Jaciel Cobos, and James Slaydon. Her husband, Javier F. Medellin, will serve as honorary pallbearer.
