Manuel "Meme" Leal

Manuel "Meme"� Leal, 55, our beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family after a brief but valiant battle against Kidney cancer.

Meme was born in 1960 to Manuel Gomez Leal and Esther Charles Leal. On January 26, 1980, he married the love of his life Sylvia, and together they had three daughters: Christina, Clarissa, and Cassandra. Meme was a long time business man in which he owned and operated Tex-Mex Plumbing Supply with his family. After selling his business, he proudly became a REALTOR� and owner of BREMCO Property Management with two of his daughters, Christina and Clarissa.

Throughout the years, Meme was involved in various community organizations in which he offered his business knowledge. He served as a board member of the Brownsville Boys and Girls Club and he proudly served as a member of the Rotary Club of Brownsville Sunrise which allowed him to volunteer around the community.

Meme was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Meme is his beloved wife of 35 years Sylvia; the three daughters that were his pride and joy: Christina Leal, Clarissa (Rey) Pe�a, and Cassandra Leal; the grandchildren that were the apple of his eye: Brianna Salinas, Luis Alejandro Salinas, and Nicholas Jude Pe�a; his loving mother, Esther Charles Leal; his father, Manuel Gomez Leal; two sisters: Belinda (Joe) Elizardi and Nora (Robert) Camargo; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 and continue through 5:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The recitation of the holy rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Rd. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27th at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
