Manuel N. Silva

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Manuel N. Silva, 64, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away on Monday the 6th of October 2025. Born on December 4, 1960, in Crosby County, Texas, Manuel spent his early years growing up in San Pedro, Texas, where his love for family and community was deeply rooted.

From a young age, Manuel worked hard alongside his parents and siblings as a migrant worker in the northern states, helping his family make a living through dedication and perseverance. That strong work ethic followed him throughout his life. He spent much of his career working as a machinery mechanic and later in the landscaping industry at Tony's Nursery, work he truly enjoyed because it kept him outdoors, where he felt most at peace.

Manuel was known by everyone as a strong, humorous, and outgoing man who could light up any room he walked into. He was outspoken, sociable, and always ready to make people laugh. He was the life of every gathering, someone who could turn an ordinary moment into a memory full of laughter.

More than anything, Manuel was a family man. He loved his children and family deeply and unconditionally. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and would be there in a heartbeat whenever someone needed him. His kindness, loyalty, and generosity touched the lives of many, and his presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him.

Preceding Manuel in death are his father, Marcelino B. Silva; his siblings, Nela Silva, Hector Silva, Noe Silva, and David N. Silva; his son, Manuel B. Silva, Jr.; and his nephews, Abiel Cavazos, Jr. and Hector Silva, Jr.

Manuel is survived by his loving mother, Esther N. Silva. He is also survived by his sons, Michael A. Silva (Aissa) and Marcus A. Silva; his grandchildren, Victoria A. Silva and Manuel Silva, children of the late Manuel B. Silva, Jr., followed by Violet Jo Silva, Lily V. Silva, Michael O. Silva, and Ace A. Silva; and by his siblings, Enedina S. Alaniz (Juan), Diana Silva, Jesus Silva, Maria Silva, Ofelia S. Martinez (Joe), Marcelino Silva, Jr., Noeila S. Garcia, Edio Silva, and Sergio Silva. Manuel is also survived by Elizabeth Silva, widow of Manuel B. Silva, Jr., and by his former wife, Virginia B. Silva, who remained an important part of his life and family. He is further survived by numerous extended family members, cousins, and lifelong friends who will deeply miss his laughter, generosity, and presence.

Manuel will be remembered for his big heart, his sense of humor, and his unwavering devotion to his family. His laughter, stories, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
