RANCHO VIEJO, TX. – Margaret Wright Clint passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on the 25th of January 2026, at the age of 91. She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. Margaret attended Incarnate Word Academy in Brownsville and graduated from Brownsville High School in 1952. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, after which she became a Medical Technologist certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. During her senior year, she was honored to be presented as Queen of the South, representing Incarnate Word College.
On May 14, 1960, Margaret married Alan Marc Clint at Sacred Heart Church in Brownsville. She began her professional career as a medical technologist in Harlingen before answering a calling to education. Margaret became an elementary school teacher with the Brownsville Independent School District, where she dedicated 33 years of service before retiring in 1996.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Margaret deeply cherished her family and her community. While raising her five children, she generously gave her time and talents to numerous organizations. She was a member and past president of P.E.O. Chapter EV; a member of the Guadalupe Regional Middle School Development Council; a member and officer of the Pan American Round Table – Part 1; a member and officer of Costumes of the Americas; a Zoofari volunteer at the Gladys Porter Zoo; and a member and officer of the St. Joseph Academy Athletic Booster Club.
Margaret enjoyed an active social life and never turned down an invitation to be with her Birthday Girls, her Lunch Bunch or to spend an entire afternoon playing games with her closest friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Marc Clint; her son, Marc William Clint; her parents, Wilbur Henry Wright and Mary Ann Jackson Wright; and by her brother, William “Billy” Wright.
She is survived by her children, Christine Clint Reed (John), John Wright Clint (Nicole), Mary Marcia Martinez, and Walter Alan Clint (Cherie); her eleven grandchildren, Helen Reed, MD (Jack Stencil), Olivia Reed Murphy (John), Matthew Clint, Travis Clint, Jason Martinez, Alyssa Martinez, Alan Adee Clint, Miranda Clint, Nathan Clint, Riley Clint, and Morgan Clint; her two great-grandchildren, Jackson “Mack” Murphy and Bennett Reed Murphy; her sister-in-law, Amanda Garza Clint; and by her cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 2nd of February 2026 between the hours of five o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to be recited at seven o'clock Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 3rd of February 2026 at Mary, Mother of the Church, 1914 Barnard Road, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
Honored to serve as her pallbearers will be Matthew Clint, Travis Clint, Jason Martinez, Alan Clint, Nathan Clint, John Murphy, and Jack Stencil.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Reed, Richard Clint Wilson, Morris “Chip” Clint III, John Beaman, Rico Roser, and Fernando Balli.
In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Margaret’s memory to the Episcopal Day School, 34 N. Coria Street, Brownsville, Texas 78520 (episcopaldayschool.net), St. Joseph Academy, 101 St. Joseph Drive, Brownsville, Texas 78520 (sja.us), or to the Guadalupe Regional Middle School, 1214 Lincoln Street, Brownsville, Texas 78521 (guadalupeprep.org).
