BROWNSVILLE, TX. - With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the peaceful passing of Margarita Margenau into eternal rest, on Sunday, the 12th of November 2023. Margarita passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-three at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

Margarita was born in Brownsville, Texas on December 6, 1939, daughter of the late Francisco Trevino and Angelita Ramos Trevino. She was devoted to her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to spending her days completing Word Search puzzles and playing chalupa with her family.
 
Margarita was the beloved wife of the late Jimmy “Morgan” Margenau. She was also preceded in death by her children, Aida Aguilar and Henry Edward Margenau.
 
Survivors include her children Jimmy Margenau, Jr. (Christina), Debra Ann Margenau (Erasmo+), David Allen Margenau (Mary Alice), Brenda Lee Gonzalez (Arturo), Betsy Jean Margenau, Alicia Resendez (Joel), Edward Margenau (Eliza), and Judy Gail Crouse (Donald); in addition to her twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 15th of November 2023 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o'clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at six o'clock in the evening, followed by the recitation of the holy rosary at seven o'clock Wednesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 16th of November 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 Lincoln Street, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.

Honored to serve as her pallbearers are Jimmy Margenau, David Margenau, Edward Margenau, Tony Medina, Jr., Michael Margenau, Joel Resendez, Eric Moctezuma, and Jason Gamboa. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Margenau, Jr., Kyle Margenau, Eduardo Enriquez, Jr., Andrew Gonzalez, Fernando Moctezuma, Jimmy Margenau III, Jeremiah Margenau, Joel Resendez, Jr.
 
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Valley Regional Medical staff Katherine Buchanan, Linda Nichols, Samantha Flores, Jacob Munoz, Maria Fernanda Orizaga, and Dr. Santiago Diaz for their dedication and compassion in assuring Margarita was provided quality care, comfort, and peace in her final hours with her family. We are forever grateful and thankful for you.
