BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Maria Belen Gaspar was 95 years of age when she entered into her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on Monday, the 13th of April 2026, with her loving daughter by her side at Spanish Meadows in Brownsville.
Belen was born on November 4, 1930. She started working at El Jardin Hotel as a beautician and after that worked at Three Sister’s Women’s Clothing Store as a saleslady for many years until her retirement in 1995.
She fell in love with Jose Gaspar, married, and they had three sons and one daughter.
Belen loved playing chalupa, and her and Jose would make delicious burgers for the church kermess. A devout Catholic, Belen was also a Eucharistic minister, sang in the church choir, and organized the Holy Family Prayer Groups.
Belen was a very loving and caring mother towards her family and helpful to even strangers.
Belen is survived by her three sons, Jose Angel Gaspar (Sandy), Jesus Javier Gaspar (Lydia), and Humberto Gaspar (Marilu), and by her daughter, Sandra Gaspar (Leilani).
Belen, you will be greatly missed and we love you, until we meet again. Love you Momma!
