Martina Sosa Garcia

Martina Sosa Garcia, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Easter Sunday, April 01, 2018, at her residence in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

Martina was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Martina was a member for many years of La Iglesia del Pueblo. Martina was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Martina was preceded in death by her husband, Jose B. Garcia Sr.; two daughters: Gricelda Garcia and Maria del Rosario Garcia Espinoza; a grandson, Jesus Antonio Espinoza; a brother, Nestor Sosa and her parents: Guadalupe Salinas and Ambrocio Sosa.

Martina is survived by two sons: Jose B. Garcia Jr. and Marcos (Sandra) Garcia; 9 grandchildren: Guadalupe Espinoza, Juan Martin Espinoza, Jose Garcia III, Nora Lisa Garcia, Marco Alfredo Garcia, Beatriz Jessica Garcia, Miguel Angel Garcia, Sasha Luz Garcia, Marcos Jose Garcia; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Juan Manuel Sosa and Wally Sosa. Martina will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

All services will be held in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. A prayer service will follow at the conclusion of the rosary. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the East Chapel. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
