BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Norma Guillermina Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, the 4th of April 2026 in the comfort of her Brownsville residence. She was 62 years of age.
Norma was born on June 13, 1963 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, daughter of Raymundo Garcia and Flavia Garcia. She was the best grandma ever and best cook ever! She loved to cook, especially making tortillas de harina, and was the head cook at the Vermillion Restaurant and Watering Hole in Brownsville.
A devout Catholic, she was an avid parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Norma had a truly selfless spirit, always putting others before herself. The depth of her love for her children, grandchildren, and all her family and friends was beyond words.
Preceding Norma in death are her father, Raymundo Garcia; and her grandmother, Maria De Jesus Camarena.
Survivors include her children, Connie Morua, Norma Gonzalez, Miriam Rosales, and Marco Gonzalez; her mother, Flavia Garcia; her grandchildren, Joseph Morua, Kassie Morua, Jason Morua, Joel Morua, Jorgie Avalos, and Coraline Rosales; her siblings, Lucy Garcia, Mary Castillo, Luis Garcia, Gerardo Garcia, Raymundo Garcia, and Carlos Garcia; six nieces, three nephews, numerous other extended family members, and her beloved pet Chihuahua Ellie, who was always with her.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, the 10th of April 2026 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to be recited at seven o'clock Friday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation to Vermillion Restaurants of Brownsville for their generous contribution and for providing their mother with a great work family!
