BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Patricia Kay DuBois entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 23rd of November 2025 in the comfort of her Brownsville residence of natural causes. She was 83 years of age.

Patricia was born in Weslaco, Texas on June 19, 1942, daughter of James Kendrick Brittain and Aileen LaVerne Hanna, and was raised in Brownsville. She graduated from Brownsville High School and went on to attend Texas Christian University and Sam Houston University.

Patricia later resided in Washington, D.C. before moving back to Brownsville, where she taught English at James Pace High School and was later the librarian at Simon Rivera High School, until her retirement from the Brownsville Independent School District.

Preceding Patricia in death are her husband, Major David Levi DuBois, Retired; her parents, James Kendrick Brittain and Aileen LaVerne Hanna Brittain; and her sister, Karen Sue Winch.

Survivors include her children, James David DuBois and Adina Leigh DuBois; her daughter-in-law, Virginia Torres de DuBois; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn V. DuBois and Jaymee A. DuBois.

Inurnment will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 12th of December 2025 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209, where Patricia will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband David.

In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, contributions in memory of Patricia may be directed to any cancer research organization of your preference.
