Pedro R. Morgan

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Pedro Ronaldo Morgan, affectionately known as Peter, Pete, Pit, and “Opi”, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, died on Friday, the 4th of September 2026, a few weeks shy of turning 70, in his home in Brownsville, Texas, of cardiac and kidney failure. He was 69 years of age. He was a retired specialist in Global Logistics, Supply Chain and Operations.

Pedro’s parents, Gerry and Erni, had emigrated from England to Argentina after World War II, having escaped from the nazis in Germany and Austria, respectively. His father’s original family name was Meyer, but in order to become a British subject, he had to change it and conveniently picked Morgan.

Pedro was brought up speaking German, English, and Spanish, and he attended college in Buenos Aires where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. In 1982, he completed the Senior Executive Program at MIT Sloan School Management.

While living in Argentina, Pedro dedicated much of his free time to volunteering at the Jewish organization B’nai Brith and was Vice President of B’nai Brith Argentina. His dedication to the Jewish community continued throughout his 25 years in Boston, Massachusetts, where he also volunteered for many years for the Pan Mass Challenge, a fundraiser for cancer research and treatment.

Pedro had many passions, among them, sports. In his younger years, he swam competitively, played volleyball, and later on played tennis, and never missed his favorite Argentinean team’s soccer games on TV or any rugby matches. After he relocated with his wife, Elena, and their two daughters, Carolina and Deborah, to the Boston area in December 2001, he also became a fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics , though he actually enjoyed watching all sports as well.

Pedro was an opera lover, an interest developed since a young age thanks to his mother. He traveled all over the world for his work as well as during much-enjoyed vacations with his family. Pedro’ s dedication, work ethic and total commitment to the companies he worked for earned him the respect, admiration, and love of all his colleagues and supervisors.

As much as Pedro loved his job, he also had special enthusiasm for good food and had a knack for finding specialized stores to go shopping, spending hours of the weekend hopping from one store to another. Elena was very happy to be spared the task of grocery shopping for many years.

None of the above passions and interests could compete against his love for the family he formed with his wife, Elena. His daughters, Carolina and Deborah, were the pride and light of his life. Carolina married Joseph Hollmann, and they currently live in Brownsville, Texas with their two daughters, Samantha (10) and Addison (7). During the brief year that Pedro and Elena lived in Brownsville since their retirement in August 2025, there was nothing that "Opi" enjoyed more than picking up the girls from school almost every day. Deborah married Matt Falcon, and they live in Fairport, New York with their two children, Natalie (4) and Jacob (1). These four grandchildren have been the joy of Pedro’s life for the past 10 years.

One of Pedro’s favorite moments of the week always was when the family, including Elena’s mother, Dalita (92), gathered around the table on Friday evenings to light the Shabbat candles.

Pedro’s good humor, easygoing manner and friendly smile have left an indelible mark in everyone he met. He will be sorely missed by his family and by his friends from Argentina, Israel, Boston, and Brownsville.

Graveside services will be held at eleven o' clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 8h of September 2026 at the Restlawn Memorial Park, 14166 Business 83, La Feria, Texas 78559.

In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, the family requests contributions in memory of Pedro may be directed to Magen David Adom (afmda.org), or to an organization dear to his heart, the Pan-Mass Challenge (pmc.org).
