Rebecca Jane Schleiff

PORT ISABEL, TX. – Rebecca Jane Schleiff (Pribble, Deaton), of Port Isabel Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, the 8th of May 2026. Born on December 26, 1969, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Betty and Dennis Schleiff, Rebecca lived life in her own way: with wit, determination, and a personality that could never be overlooked. She was strong willed, quick with a comeback, fiercely independent, and loved deeply by those who truly knew her.

Rebecca dedicated over two decades of her life to working as a Tax Accountant, a career she was deeply dedicated to and through which she developed many lasting friendships. But beyond any title or profession, the roles she cherished most were Mom and Nana. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joys of her life, and she loved them with everything she had.

To know Rebecca was to know her love for animals and the many pets she adored throughout the years. She also carried a special love for the beach, especially South Padre Island, where she found peace in the sound of the waves, the ocean breeze, and the slower moments life sometimes offered. She enjoyed baking for the people she loved, spending quiet afternoons fishing off her dock with her grandchildren, and taking a cruise in her Jeep with the top down and the sun shining.

Rebecca had a way of saying exactly what was on her mind, often with humor and raw honesty. She was resilient through life’s hardships and fiercely protective of the people she loved. Her presence was unforgettable: equal parts stubbornness, laughter, strength, and heart.

She is survived by her children, her son, Stèphane Pribble and wife Melissa Pribble of Roland, Oklahoma, her son, Brandon Pribble of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and by her daughter, Taylor Still of Roland, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Laedynn Pribble, Grayci Mae Pribble, Arabella Still, River Pribble, and Madilyn Mae Pribble, all of whom brought endless pride and happiness to her life.

A memorial service to celebrate Rebecca’s life is currently being planned, with details and announcements to be made at a later date.

“Like seashells on the shore, your love is endless and remains with us.”
