Ricardo "Richard" Sanchez, 68, passed away on January 9, 2019. He was born in San Benito on September 17, 1950, lived in Brownsville and moved with his sister Nena to Dallas, Texas December, 2014. He enjoyed attending My Possibilities and The Achievement Center of Texas, both Schools for Persons with Special Needs.

Richard was a sweet, kind brother loved by all who knew him. Richard is now with Our Lord Jesus Christ, and many family members who loved him so much.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Concepcion M. Sanchez; brothers, Benny and Henry Sanchez; sister, Silvia Isabel Sanchez; maternal grandmother, Apolonia G. Martinez; aunts, Angela Martinez and Consuelo M. Brady; uncle, Enrique Martinez (Dilia V.); and by his brother-in-law, Johnny N. Cavazos.

Surviving family includes his siblings, Maria Teresa "Nena" S. Cavazos of Dallas, Emilio Sanchez (Norma R.) of Brownsville, and Mary Ann S. Hernandez (Mike A.) of Dallas; nieces and nephews Irene S. Ross (Troy ), Enrique Sanchez III, David Sanchez (Catherine F.), Sonya S. Pena (Joel) Luis Sanchez (Lisa T.), Norma S. Garza, Jorge Sanchez (Sonia G.), Emilio Sanchez Jr., Roberto Sanchez, Cristina Sanchez, Ana Cecilia S. Carrasco (Rafael), Ana H. Franklin (Jay), Mike Hernandez III (Kelly S.), Sandra Hernandez, and Albert Hernandez (Jennifer G.); cousins Jose Enrique Martinez (Gloria), Norma M. Warner (Larry), Hector Martinez, Leticia M. Scheiber (John), Ed Brady, Jr. (Lou), Charles Brady (Melissa), and Bettye B. Collins (Clyde).

We would like to thank all who sent expressions of love and support together with prayers during these difficult days.

There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1914 Barnard Road in Brownsville, Texas on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flower donations, may we suggest donations to The Achievement Center of Texas, 2950 N. Shiloh Road, Garland, Texas 75044; or an organization that provides services for persons with special needs.
