Rosie M. Barrera

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Rosie M. Barrera entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 19th of November 2023 peacefully in her residence surrounded by her family. She was seventy-four years of age.

Rosie was born on February 23, 1949 in Brownsville, Texas, daughter of the late Constancio Mendoza and Isabel Gomez Mendoza. Rosie was a devoted housewife and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed walking and loved arts and crafts.

Preceding Rosie in death were her parents, Constancio Mendoza and Isabel G. Mendoza; and her siblings Rodolfo Cortinas, Jr., Raul Cortinas, Raquel Cortinas, and Glorida Mendoza Cantu.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Ruben Z. Barrera, and her daughters, Roxanne B. Bailey and her husband Jonathan Bailey, and their children Amanda Taylor Bailey, Joanthan Craig Bailey, Carter Anthony Bailey, and Victoria Nicole Bailey; Romie B. Cortez and her husband Javier Cortez, and their children Diego Ruben Cortez, Raquel Cortez, and Oziel Cortez; and Rachel Sarquis and her husband Miguel Angel Sarquis, and their children Seth Angel Sarquis and Andrea Samantha Sarquis.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at twelve noon on Saturday, the 25th of November 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 Lincoln Street, Brownsville.
