Rosa Maria Caballero

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Mrs. Rosa María Caballero, 72, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, the 16th of July 2025 in her Brownsville residence surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Rosa had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. Rosa was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Artemio Raul Caballero Saldivar; her parents, Romana and Gustavo Rodriguez; and by her brother, Gustavo Rodriguez Reyna.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her three daughters that were her pride and joy: Maria Alejandra Caballero and her husband, Manuel Valdez; Rosa Maria Ibarra and her husband, Jorge, and Nereida Rodriguez and her husband, Dagoberto; and the eight grandchildren that were the apple of her eye: Jorge Alberto Ibarra II, Artemio Raul Ibarra, Josemanuel Valdez, Dariella Dolores Ibarra, Alekzander Valdez, Zoe Rodriguez, Iza Rodriguez, and Joz Rodriguez. Rosa will also be missed by her siblings: Maria Esther Peña and her husband, Jose Luz, Francisco Rodriguez and his wife, Leticia, and Juan Manuel Rodriguez and his wife, Ofelia; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, the 20th of July 2025 between the hours of two o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Sunday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at half past nine o'clock in the morning on Monday, the 21st of July 2025 at St. Eugene de Mazenod Catholic Church, 5409 Austin Road, Brownsville. All services will conclude at the church. Cremation will follow.
