Mr. Sergio A. Cisneros Sr., 89, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Monday, April 3, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Sergio, a member of one of Brownsville's pioneer families, was a lifelong resident of our city. He was a proud US Navy veteran having served our country honorably in both WWII and the Korean War. Sergio was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Sergio was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.
Sergio was preceded in death by his son, Sergio A. Cisneros Jr.; his parents Eulalia Gomez & Jose Angel Cisneros; two sisters, Lupita Nelson and Anita Alvarez; and three brothers: Antonio, Jose Angel Jr., and Alfonso Cisneros.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving wife of 67 years: Maria E. Orive Cisneros; three daughters: Maria Cisneros (Jerry) Boss, Patricia Cisneros (Bill) Young, and Dolores Cisneros (Hugh) Emerson; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jorge (Angie) Cisneros and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 1218 East Jefferson St. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside by the American Legion Funeral Honor Guard.
Noah Drumright, David Boss, Clay Young IV, Arthur A. Emerson, Joseph Graham, and Arturo Nelson Jr. are honored to be serving as Sergio's pallbearers.
