Theodore "Ted" Manzano

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - With great sorrow, the sister and brothers of Mr. Theodore "Ted" Manzano announce the passing of their brother, Ted. Mr. Manzano, 59, was born August 10, 1959 in Brownsville, Texas. He died at his residence in Austin, Texas on May 02, 2019 of natural causes.

He was a devout Catholic having been guided by his mother. Our brother can only be described as a kind soul. He was patient; tolerant; a servant to humanity; a true gentleman. Ted was very intelligent. He excelled in mathematics and finance.

As a youth, Ted was a Cub Scout while attending Ebony Heights Elementary. He was a baseball pitcher for the West Brownsville Little League team, Pan American Bank.

He was a member of the Brownsville Boys' Choir formed in 1965 under the direction of Mr. R. Buchanan. In 1973 at Stell Junior High and once again under the direction of Mr. Buchanan, Ted was one of seven chosen from public and private schools to provide vocal accompaniment for the world famous "Carpenters."

Ted was on the James Pace High School Tennis Team. Life-long friendships were made from both the Pace High School and Hanna High School tennis teams. He went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin. As an avid Longhorn basketball and football fan, he attended games with hometown friends whom also lived in Austin. Guys, he loved every minute of being with you and loved you so much.

Ted was a home loan mortgage processor for D. R. Horton Homebuilders in Austin. He was the man with the answers. With his recommendations, he guided his team and other co-workers towards successful resolutions. There, too, he made good friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Maria C. M. Manzano; and grandparents, Eduardo and Julia R. Manzano and Juan D. and Paula G. Munoz.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Manzano; brothers, Mariano (Yvonne) Manzano, Jr. of Edinburg, and Daniel O. Manzano of Austin; step-sister, Lorraine Castro; nephews, Mariano Manzano III, Adam Manzano of Edinburg; and great-niece, Meadow Manzano.
