SAN BENITO, TX. – Reyes Mendoza, 72, of San Benito, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, the 5th of November 2020 in Harlingen, Texas.
Reyes was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He later joined U.S. Customs and Border Protection where he served as a Customs Agent until his retirement. In his spare time, Reyes enjoyed barbequing and going to the beach. He will be greatly missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes Mendoza and Telesfora Reyna Mendoza; and by his siblings Domingo Mendoza, Jose Angel Mendoza, Francisca Mendoza, and Ladislada Garza and her husband, Uvaldo Garza.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathryn Mendoza and Karen Villarreal (Andres); his grandchildren Seth Stevens, Eleni Salazar, and Esteban Villarreal; and his sisters, Irma Diaz and Maria Mendoza.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 9th of November 2020 between the hours of twelve o’clock in the afternoon and seven o'clock at night, with military honors to be conducted at six o’clock in the evening and a recitation of the holy rosary to be held at seven o'clock Monday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 10th of November 2020 at the historic Immaculate Conception Cathedral at 1218 E. Jefferson Street, Brownsville, Texas 78520. All services will conclude at the church and in accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow.
