Rose Marie Leal, 52, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at her residence in Webster, Texas.
Rose was born in Harlingen, Texas. She resided in the San Pedro community until her graduation from Pace High School. Rose attended Texas Women’s University where she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Speech Pathology. After obtaining her Masters, she worked for several Rehab facilities in Texas. In 1998, she moved to California to work for CNS. In 2018, Rose was transferred to Webster, Texas, to serve as the director of the Rehab facility opened by CNS.
Rose loved to travel. A band trip to Europe while she was a student at Pace ignited a love for travel that lasted the rest of her life. It was on the first trip that Rose turned 15. Rose was fortunate to travel to Europe several times and visit several European countries, among them The Vatican. Rose had a trip to Spain planned for this year but due to the pandemic was unable to make it.
Rose was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all of those fortunate to have known her and been a part of her life.
Rose is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Beatriz and Urbano Ramirez; her paternal grandparents, Matilde G. and Ysidro Leal; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
Left behind to cherish their memories of her are her parents: Rosie “Chita” and Fermin Leal; a brother, John and his wife Edna; and her nieces and nephews: Megan, Bobby, Destiny, Treston, and Alayna along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm. The rosary service will be livestreamed on our website. Due to the current pandemic regulations the funeral Mass will be for family only but friends are asked to join us at the Ysidro Leal Memorial Cemetery, located at Leal Farms, 8250 U.S. Hwy 281, in San Pedro on December 31, 2020 at 11:00 am for the committal service.
Carlos “Chale” Garcia, Roque Leal, Roque Leal Jr., George Lucio, Randy Ramirez and Sonny Villarreal are honored to be serving as Rose’s pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Manuel G. Leal, Bano Ramirez, Daniel “Kid” de Leon, Mike Ortiz and Rick Hernandez.
